The country Morocco is the homeland of Islamic, Arabic, and African people. The country has been ruled by many invaders starting with the Arabs and ending with the French in the year 1956 which finally made the country independent. Morocco is a country dotted with a number of cities. The capital city of Morocco is Rabat. Other major cities of Morocco are Agadir, Al Aioun, Al Hoceima, Casablanca, Fez, Guelmim, Inezgane, Kenitra, Marrakesh, Meknes, Ouarzazate, Safi, Sale, Tafraoute, Tangier, and Tetouan. All the cities are dotted with pieces of architecture that forms part of the sightseeing at Morocco.


One of the important places for sightseeing at Morocco is Fez. The town is one of the largest and oldest medieval cities of the world. The city has lived through the ages by facing the challenges and is alive till today. Fez has earned popularity for being the spiritual capital of Morocco. The Fez officially encompasses the twin cities of El Bali and Jadid. Among these two cities the former is surrounded by two mosques called Al-Qarawiyin and Al-Andalus. The most important places to visit in Fez are Nejjarine Square and Fountain, the Er Rsif and Andalous (Al-Andalus) mosques, the Royal Palace, the Kasbah and Karaouine (Al-Qarawiyin) University. All the historical structures of Fez depict Hispano-Arabic architecture. The market or Medina of Fez El Bali is one of the largest markets in the world and has also listed itself on the list of UNESCO's World Heritage list. The market is particularly popular for selling carpets, rugs, and ornate metalwork. The Dar Bath Museum of Fez is a must visit while sightseeing at Morocco.

Murrakech is another place for sightseeing at Morocco. The Djemaa el-Fna (Place of the Dead), the city square, comes alive after nightfall, thronged with dancers, fortune-tellers, musicians, acrobats, storytellers and snake charmers make the city worth visiting. The city is characterized by the 12th-century mosque, Koutoubia is one of the important place to visit in Murrakech together with the medina, Bahia Palace, the beautiful Saadian Tombs housing the remains of rulers of the Saadian Dynasty, the Dar Sisaid Museum, the Menara and Aquedal gardens and the famed camel market.
